"We often have patients ask what is happening to their body after a UC Correction. We tell them it is NORMAL to experience aches and pains un-noticed for years. It is possible to notice a fever after a correction. This is a sign the body is healing itself. The greatest benefit of the UC correction is that the immune system is allowed to "turn on" and function correctly. Second, the nerves begin to send/receive correct messages between the brain and the body via the brain stem (C1 C2 area).
Next, every vertebrae in the body will shift back into proper alignment. This affects muscles, tendons and organs. This shift will be felt in every part of the body and can be frightening if the patient is not forewarned. As it happens, there is no mistaking that "whatever this UC doctor did is impacting the body" in a remarkable way. Almost everyone is shocked that this small movement can have such profound affects.
Healing comes in stages. Generally, all symptoms leave for a period of time, then slowly return in a reduced state as the healing progresses. Complete healing depends on the number of years since the original trauma; for some this takes days, other months, but for some it takes years. Proper nutrition, and cleansing the body from heavy metals, toxins and drug residue all have an impact on how fast the body can heal.
"IUCPAA shares the letter below from a patient who aptly expresses the Retracing process. The concept of Retracing is further explained in this article by Dr. BJ Palmer ."clicking here."
Hi Dr. Drew,
Well, I did ski all weekend, it was much to beautiful, sun, snow and friends ...too much fun!! Finally cut the day short today due to some neck and lower back pain that started last night which I know I will get through. In between skiing I can't seem to stop reading about Upper Cervical Care on the computer, it is addicting and I think I have covered almost every site imaginable. I am so excited about UC I sound like a used car salesman on the chairlift.
I am glad you are going to take the time to educate your patients. From my perspective it is very important that a patient understand What is being done? Why it is being done? and most of all ...What to expect AFTER it is done? I felt you covered the first two areas extremely well with me on my first visit but I had no idea what to expect in the following months. If we hadn't "clicked" and talked on line I would have been a "basket case" from the weird pains my body has gone through.
In talking to a friend this morning who has made no comment if she feels better or not, only that she has had nothing negative to say... I know she is seeing you today...I worry if she experiences some of the strange pains I have over the past month and doesn't expect them she will panic like I did.
Your enthusiasm is wonderful but as you know some people are skeptical about Chiropractors in the first place. I think you have to be careful that you don't come across as a "snake oil salesman" with your wagon parked out front in"River City!" Greg Buchannan (his site is awesome) is the best salesman you have, and people like me who truly know the value of what you are doing. USE YOUR PATIENTS, they are your best marketing tool, I can go on and on to people and not sound like I am selling something, where to the average Joe you may sound like your on a soapbox and a little nuts! That can hurt you with some people. I know you know that!!!
Thirst for understanding is not found in everyone and quite frankly the information I have read over the past month has had more impact on me than anything I personally heard in your office. I would save any preaching for your written papers, speeches and your fellow Chiropractors. I suspect many years ago the OVER promises of cures for serious diseases is what hurt the UC doctors in the first place. Hope I am not too blunt, I truly care about YOUR success and the success of UC. I wouldn't be taking this time to write if I didn't! You can't push people to believe!
Take my husband Richard, I about fainted the other day when he asked me if he was still scheduled to see you Feb 1st? He said "I'm looking forward to it, maybe it can help my Cancer!" He laughed at me when I suggested that a month ago. I have been reading various things to him about UC Care and he has seen my improvement, heard positive feedback and now come to his own conclusion. Doesn't get more positive than that!
Now, about ME and my health...I have sure had various pains and constant weird stuff going on in my body since my adjustment. I know you told me this is normal and I want to be certain I am healing inside. I talked to my Chiropractor on the phone about UC. I need to have some one that can check me periodically when we are away for long periods of time.
He is a Palmer graduate. In our discussion I felt that he believes he performs the UC subluxation skill when he has adjusted me so I shared the difference in your treatment and his. He has never taken an X-ray nor used any of the equipment you have. He is very open to all this and was interested in learning more about the UC of America group.
I gave him your website and Greg Buchannans (www.upcspine.com) to read. He also said if he could talk to you about my adjustment he would be able to check me if I need it...would that be possible? I think he would be a great guy to have on your team. He has been here for, I think 25 years, a great guy, takes care of everyone...needless to say this town is full of very athletic people with lots of "heads NOT on straight!" Please let me know what you think?
must get dinner ready, write me back in between saving the world, one patient at a time! What a great feeling it must be to help people be healthy and have a better life.
